Mechanism of Action
The ring makes food go through the gastric pouch more slowly which gives heightened restriction and feeling of fullness.
4 CLOSING POSITIONS
The ring has 4 closing positions (see fig. 1) enabling the surgeon to close the ring at 6,5 – 7,0 – 7,5 – 8,0cm. It also allows for going back from small to larger sizes with a special manoeuvre.

Results
RING ON A GASTRIC BYPASS:
- Studies comparing a Gastric Bypass with a ring vs no ring have shown increased % of excess weight loss (%EWL) of 77% vs 65% in Bypass patients without a ring – an increase of 12% of excess weight lost at 5 years post-op
- 50% of patients with a ring had no weight regain at 5 years post-op vs 27% without a ring
RING ON A SLEEVE:
- Percentage of excess weight lost (%EWL) at 5 years post-op: 73% with a ring vs 62% without a ring
- Less weight regain at 5 years post op
